What the Better PvP mod does
Better PvP is the Xaero-authored client-side mod that adds every quality-of-life feature competitive Minecraft PvP servers expect but vanilla omits, a proper minimap, waypoints, an extended HUD with armor/potion/xp readouts, macro keybinds, and toggleable combat overlays. It is the single most-installed PvP mod on the Fabric and Forge ecosystems.
Because it is client-side only, no server install is required, you can drop it into any modpack and it works on any Minecraft server including Hypixel, Mineplex and 2b2t. It is bundled in the Better Minecraft modpack for players who want PvP tools ready out of the box.

Minimap
Corner minimap with zoom levels, biome colour-coding, mob dot indicators, night-vision toggle, direction compass.
Waypoints
Set persistent waypoints anywhere in the world. Waypoints show on the minimap and as beacon-beam markers in-world. Sync across dimensions.
Combat HUD
Adds always-visible armor durability, potion timers, xp bar detail, target health bar. Every element toggleable.
Macro keybinds
Bind multi-step actions to a single key (swap-and-eat, drop-armor, quick-heal). Great for tournament play where inventory speed matters.
Server-friendly
Client-side only, no server install required. Works on any Minecraft server, including vanilla Realms and third-party PvP servers.

Better PvP FAQ
Is Better PvP against Hypixel rules?
The minimap and waypoints are allowed on Hypixel. Certain macro keybinds are disallowed, check Hypixel's current mod policy before using in tournaments.
Better PvP vs JourneyMap?
JourneyMap is exploration-first, Better PvP is combat-first. Both have minimaps but Better PvP has combat HUD, JourneyMap has richer cartography.
Does it work on servers?
Yes, client-side only. No server install required.
Can I disable the minimap?
Yes, every feature toggles independently in the mod's settings menu. Turn off minimap and keep only the combat HUD if you prefer minimal UI.
